Remembrance Day is a memorial day that has been observed since the end of the First World War to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty. This year at Bevois Town, to mark the 100 year anniversary since the end of the First World War, we worked together as a school to create the image of a poppy out of coins donated by the children and their families. All classes carefully placed their coins to create the image, synonymous with this special day. Each class then had the opportunity to silently remember and reflect on those that had selflessly given their lives so that we can live in a more peaceful world today.
All the money collected was donated to The Royal British Legion.
