During Anti-Bullying Week 2025, our school community came together to explore the theme ‘Power for Good’, focusing on how each of us can use our words and actions to make a positive difference.
We launched the week by taking part in Odd Socks Day, with children and staff wearing mismatched socks to celebrate individuality and remind us all that it is our differences that make us special. It was a bright, fun and meaningful way to start the week, encouraging everyone to be proud of who they are.
Throughout the week, children took part in a range of thoughtful and engaging activities designed to build understanding, empathy and confidence. In class, pupils discussed what bullying is, how it can make people feel, and—most importantly—what we can do if we see or experience it. They explored the idea that everyone has the power to help others, whether that is by speaking up, showing kindness, or including others in their play.
A key focus this year was also online safety. Children learned about how bullying can take place online and the importance of using technology responsibly. They discussed how to stay safe, what to do if something doesn’t feel right, and the importance of telling a trusted adult. Pupils explored how their ‘power for good’ can be used in digital spaces too—by choosing kind words, thinking carefully before posting, and supporting others online.
Children shared ideas about how to be a good friend and an upstander rather than a bystander. Through stories, role-play and discussion, they considered real-life scenarios and practised using respectful language and positive choices.
