At Bevois Town Primary School, our geography curriculum aims to inspire pupils with a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people in order for them to understand the world they live in and the roles they can play within it both presently and in the future.
Skilled teaching and memorable experiences will equip pupils with skills and knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. Through fieldwork, enquiry and investigation, children will gain a deep understanding of how their local environment differs to others and how environments impact the way people live both locally, nationally and internationally.
As our pupils progress, their growing knowledge about the world will help them to deepen their understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments. We aim to ensure that our pupils leave Bevois Town Primary School equipped with essential knowledge, are competent in a range of skills and have a strong sense of global citizenship.
